Privacy Policy

1. Scope and who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how the application provider identified on the PhotoPDF App Store or application marketplace product page (“PhotoPDF,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the PhotoPDF mobile application (the “App”), contact support, or visit an official PhotoPDF privacy or support page.

For this Policy, “collect” generally means transmitting information off your device so that PhotoPDF or a service provider acting for PhotoPDF can access or retain it. Information processed only on your device is described separately because it may still be sensitive even though PhotoPDF does not collect it on a server.

3. Photos, metadata, and PDF files

3.1 Photo library access

PhotoPDF requests access to your photo library so it can display photos and albums and let you choose images to merge into a PDF. On supported systems, you may grant access to selected photos only. PhotoPDF does not upload your photo library to a PhotoPDF server.

3.2 On-device processing

Selected image bytes are loaded into device memory and may use temporary App storage while you crop, rotate, filter, mark up, estimate output size, generate, or preview a document. Those operations are performed locally by the App and operating-system components.

3.3 Capture dates

If the “Keep Capture Date” option is enabled, PhotoPDF reads the creation date associated with a selected photo and places a formatted date in the generated PDF. You can turn this option off before generating the PDF. PhotoPDF does not use capture dates to track you or infer your location.

3.4 Local PDF storage

Generated PDFs are saved in the App’s local documents area. PhotoPDF also stores limited local metadata—such as file name, creation time, and the number of source photos—to display your library and statistics. Your operating system may include App data in device backups according to your device and cloud-backup settings; those backups are controlled by the operating-system provider, not PhotoPDF.

4. Device permissions and system features

• Photos or media: used to browse and select images for PDF creation. You can limit or revoke access in system Settings.
• Face ID or device biometrics: optional and used only for App Lock. Biometric templates remain under operating-system control; PhotoPDF receives an authentication result, not your face or fingerprint data.
• Files and system share sheet: activated when you choose to export or share a PDF. The destination you select receives the file under its own privacy practices.
• Clipboard: the Contact Us page can write the PhotoPDF support email address to your clipboard when you tap to copy it. The App does not use this feature to read unrelated clipboard contents.

The current App does not request your precise location, contacts, microphone recordings, or health information for its PDF functionality.

5. In-app purchases

5.1 Apple processes payment

PhotoPDF offers PhotoPDF Pro and the consumable One HD Export – No Watermark product (the “One-Time Export”). These purchases are processed by Apple’s App Store. Apple handles your Apple Account, payment method, billing address, authentication, and full payment-card information under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy. PhotoPDF does not receive your full payment-card details.

5.2 Transaction information used by the App

The App receives transaction-related information needed to display a product, submit a purchase request, validate a transaction, deliver the paid benefit, complete the transaction, and restore PhotoPDF Pro. This may include the product identifier, localized name and price, purchase status, transaction identifier, original transaction information, and receipt or verification data supplied by Apple.

5.3 Local One-Time Export record

For a verified One-Time Export purchase, PhotoPDF stores the Apple transaction identifier and whether that transaction is available or has been consumed in local App preferences. This record allows the App to preserve an unused export credit on the device, deliver each purchase only once, complete the StoreKit transaction after successful PDF delivery, and avoid issuing the same credit twice if Apple redelivers a transaction.

PhotoPDF does not upload this local transaction or consumption state to a PhotoPDF server. The record remains in local App data until it is removed with the App or its data, subject to operating-system backups. Apple may separately retain purchase records under Apple’s policies.

6. Support communications and web pages

6.1 Contacting support

PhotoPDF does not require your email address to use the App. If you voluntarily email us, we receive your email address, message, and any files or information you choose to include. If you ask for purchase support, you may choose to provide a transaction identifier or purchase date so we can understand the issue. Please do not send sensitive photos, identity documents, full payment-card numbers, passwords, or biometric information in a support message.

6.2 Official web pages

When you open an official PhotoPDF policy or support page in your browser, the browser and hosting infrastructure necessarily process a network request. Standard server logs may include an IP address, browser or device type, requested URL, response status, and date and time. These logs are used only to deliver, protect, and maintain the page, not for advertising or cross-site tracking by PhotoPDF.

7. No advertising, analytics, or cross-app tracking

As of the effective date of this Policy, PhotoPDF does not include third-party advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, or third-party crash-reporting SDKs. We do not use your photos, PDFs, App activity, purchase state, or device identifiers to build advertising profiles or track you across apps and websites owned by other companies.

8. How and why information is used

Where applicable, PhotoPDF uses information to:

• provide photo selection, editing, PDF generation, storage, preview, and sharing features;
• remember settings and protect the App with optional device authentication;
• display and validate in-app purchase products and transactions;
• activate and restore PhotoPDF Pro;
• deliver one paid One-Time Export, record whether it has been used, and prevent duplicate fulfillment;
• respond to voluntary support requests and feedback;
• protect the App and official web pages from fraud, abuse, and security threats;
• comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable terms.

If privacy law requires a legal basis, the basis may be performance of a contract or action at your request, your consent or device permission, our legitimate interests in support, fraud prevention, and security, or compliance with law. You may withdraw a permission through system Settings, but doing so may prevent the related feature from working.

9. When information is disclosed

PhotoPDF may disclose or make information available only as follows:

• Apple or another application marketplace: to display products, process and validate transactions, deliver paid benefits, complete purchases, restore eligible purchases, and distribute the App.
• Destinations you choose: when you use the system share sheet or export a PDF to a file provider, app, person, or service.
• Email and web infrastructure providers: to deliver your support email or host an official PhotoPDF page.
• Legal and safety disclosures: when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate fraud, or respond to a valid legal request.
• Business transition: if the App or its provider is reorganized, transferred, or acquired, subject to applicable law and continued protection consistent with this Policy.

Service providers handling information for PhotoPDF are expected to use it only for the relevant service and provide protection consistent with this Policy and applicable law.

10. Retention and deletion

• Photos: original photos remain in your system photo library under your control. Temporary App copies may remain in system-managed cache or temporary storage until removed by the App, the operating system, or App uninstallation.
• PDFs and local metadata: remain in local App storage until you delete them in PhotoPDF or remove the App. Copies you export or share must be deleted from the destination separately.
• Settings and Pro status: remain in local App preferences until changed, reset, or removed with the App. PhotoPDF Pro may later be restored from Apple using the original Apple Account.
• One-Time Export state: available and consumed transaction identifiers remain in local App preferences until local App data is removed. Removing the App or its data may remove an unused consumable credit from the device. Apple may retain its own transaction record under Apple’s policies.
• Support messages: are kept only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain support history, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations, then deleted or anonymized where appropriate.
• Web logs: may be retained for a limited period set by the hosting provider for security, reliability, and troubleshooting.

Residual copies may remain temporarily in device or service backups until the relevant backup cycle expires. We may retain information longer when required by law, needed to resolve a dispute, or necessary to protect users and the App from fraud or abuse.

11. Your choices and controls

• Change or revoke photo access in your device’s privacy Settings.
• Disable App Lock in PhotoPDF Settings or control biometrics in system Settings.
• Turn off capture-date inclusion before generating a PDF.
• Delete PDFs from the PhotoPDF Files page and separately delete exported copies.
• Choose whether to purchase PhotoPDF Pro, a One-Time Export, or continue with the free export option.
• Remove local App data by uninstalling PhotoPDF, subject to device backups and the consumable-purchase limitation described in Section 10.
• Choose not to contact support or omit optional attachments and transaction details.

Revoking access does not affect information you previously chose to place in an exported PDF or send to another service. You must manage those copies at their destination.

12. Privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of personal information we control, withdraw consent, or complain to a privacy regulator. You will not be discriminated against for exercising a legally protected right.

Most PhotoPDF content and purchase state described in this Policy exists only on your device and is not accessible to us. For that content, use the controls described in Section 11. For support communications or other information we may control, send a request to the email in Section 16. We may need enough information to verify the request and locate the relevant correspondence.

For information controlled by Apple or another marketplace, email provider, cloud-backup provider, or sharing destination, submit your request directly to that provider. Apple privacy information and account tools are available at apple.com/legal/privacy and privacy.apple.com.

13. Children’s privacy

PhotoPDF is a general-purpose document utility and is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum digital-consent age in their jurisdiction. The App does not require an account and does not knowingly collect personal information from children through an account or profile.

A parent or guardian who believes a child has sent personal information to PhotoPDF Support may contact us to request its deletion. Purchases by minors remain subject to marketplace family, authorization, and refund controls.

14. Security and international processing

PhotoPDF reduces privacy risk by processing photos, PDFs, preferences, and purchase-credit state locally and relying on operating-system sandboxing and permission controls. We use reasonable administrative and technical measures for information we do receive, but no device, transmission, mailbox, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Support email and website infrastructure may process information in a country different from yours. Where required, we and our providers use measures intended to protect information during international processing in accordance with applicable law.

15. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the App, technology, law, or our practices. The revised version will display a new “Last updated” date and will be made available in the App or on an official PhotoPDF page. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or request consent before materially different processing begins.

If PhotoPDF later introduces analytics, advertising, cloud photo processing, accounts, a PhotoPDF purchase server, or another materially different data practice, this Policy and applicable App Store privacy disclosures will be updated before or when that practice is introduced as required.
