Home Cookbook

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 18, 2026  ·  Last Updated: July 18, 2026

The Short Version

1. Introduction

Welcome to Home Cookbook ("the App"), a personal recipe manager that helps you save and organize your recipes, record photos, cooking time, difficulty, ingredients, and cooking steps, and generate shopping lists from your recipes to make meal prep easier.

This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your information. Home Cookbook was built with a simple principle: your kitchen notes belong to you, and only you. The App stores everything locally on your device.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

Home Cookbook does not collect, transmit, store on any server, or otherwise process any personal information, including but not limited to:

We have no servers that receive your data. There is literally nothing for us to collect, sell, share, or leak.

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

To provide its features, the App saves the following content exclusively in the App's local storage on your device:

This data never leaves your device through the App. It is not uploaded, synced, backed up to any server operated by us, or shared with anyone.

4. Photo Library Access

If you choose to attach a photo to a recipe, the App will ask for your permission to access your photo library or camera. This permission is used solely to let you pick or take a photo and save it into the App's local storage. Your photos are never uploaded, transmitted, or accessed for any other purpose. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device's Settings.

5. No Tracking, Analytics, or Advertising

The App contains no third-party analytics SDKs, no advertising frameworks, and no tracking technologies of any kind. We do not track you across apps or websites, and the App does not use Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework because there is simply no tracking to ask about.

6. Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate any third-party services that process your data (such as analytics providers, ad networks, social media SDKs, or cloud storage services). Your content stays within the App's sandbox on your device.

7. Device Backups

If you enable iCloud Backup or computer backups in your device settings, your device's operating system (iOS) may include the App's locally stored data in those backups. This process is entirely controlled by Apple and governed by Apple's own privacy policy. We have no access to, and receive no data from, such backups.

8. Data Security

Because all data resides only on your device, your information is protected by the security mechanisms built into iOS, including device encryption and the App sandbox. We recommend keeping your device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID enabled to protect your data.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data stays on your device for as long as you keep it. You can delete individual recipes, photos, categories, or shopping lists at any time within the App. Deleting the App from your device permanently removes all of its locally stored data. Since we hold none of your data, there is nothing to delete on our side.

10. Children's Privacy

The App does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). All content remains local to the device.

11. International Users

Because the App does not collect or transfer any personal data, no cross-border data transfer takes place when you use Home Cookbook, wherever you are in the world.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. If the App's data practices ever change materially, we will note it clearly here before the change takes effect. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
